Among the people who invaded the U.S. Capitol on January 6 were people the Republican Party will soon elect to congress

If you look at the current trajectory of the Republican Party, and consider the extreme-right politics of the newest Republican members of congress — like Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Lauren Boebart from Colorado — who have demonstrated at least tacit support for the January 6 invasion of the U.S. Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump, it does not take much imagination to realize that in the mob that invaded the Capitol were people whom the Republican Party will soon elect to congress.

On January 6, they were just taking a look at the place where they’ll soon work.
